Apartment Therapy come to B. Jones Style
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed I’ve been in house project mode lately.. and the reason? Apartment Therapy sent Bethany Nauert to shoot my home! FLATTERED to say the least.
In the past, I’ve shared my workspace, my bedroom, and my closet, but until now I haven’t let you in on the downstairs of my home… mainly because it’s been in process for the last year. Now.. it’s ready for your viewing pleasure.
One reason I fell in love with this home was because of the design done by JR Walz. As an architect, he created unique spaces that felt different from anything I’d seen. Concrete floors, bamboo walls, exposed ceilings, and green astroturf stairs (seriously!) made this the place for us! With all this inspiration, I got to work on making it our own.
Here is the breakdown…
The Living Room is open and airy because of the sliding glass door that brings the outside in.. so I used a lot of greenery to tie it all together.. and just like my fashion sense I mixed tons of prints and textures together.. all with a similar color palette.
To make a flat screen tv not so big and ugly, I surrounded it with a collage of quirky paintings, mirrors and plants.. and hid all the equipment in a mid-century case.
The Guest Room took on a vacation vibe after I picked up these succulent paintings on our coastal roadtrip this summer. Then a closet was transformed into my hubby’s office… since I stole the upstair room for my office (whoops!).
Our Dining Room is where we gather with friends to share laughter and southern cooking…fried chicken anyone? I still have work to do on this table, but this mid-century baby was a great thrift store find! And you can never go wrong with a chalkboard wall to welcome guests, write love notes, or list things that need to be picked up!
Our Kitchen is simple.. but I love the bamboo cabinets and concrete countertops. I also chose to personalize this space with love-story pics of my hubby and me. Each one is a special moment or trip we’ve taken.
Just a quick shot of my Workspace, in case you’ve forgotten.. I look hard at work in this one!
And, another quick shot of the Bedroom and Bathroom.

I saw the A.T. post and loved every bit of your home. It’s so comfy and glam and earthy, just like your style. I love when a person’s home matches their personal style as well. Your office is my favorite of the spaces, it just looks like a place you can work in all day and be totally comfortable and inspired.

Gorgeous space, Beth!! I should have known it would be. I love your soft palette of neutrals and subtle layering of textures, but more than anything else I LOVE your open air living room. I would probably leaves those sliding glass doors open 90% of the time.
