I have a question! I’ve been wearing a lot of dark colors this fall, and I’d like to liven up my wardrobe for the holiday season. I’m an elementary school teacher, and my colleagues have all started wearing their Christmas-themed sweaters, cardigans, pins, etc. I’m relatively young and wouldn’t be caught dead in a reindeer-print turtleneck. How can I show a little holiday spirit and not look like a roll of wrapping paper?

this is awesome (and i’m about to buy both of those necklaces!)….anyway, i have a holiday party at my husband’s mentor’s house (so, not boss…but someone of a high position). as a mom of 2, my tummy needs to be hidden…what do you recommend? btw, i am all about taking risks, so go for it…

Do you have any ideas for handmade / crafted holiday gifts?

  6. December 5, 2011

    Hey there!

You’re too cute :) My question is actually some advice on gifts for my family…after quitting my 6 year career, I’ve landed myself in fashion school and I gotta tell ya, I’m not used to funds being so tight! So I need to get kind of creative with gifts this year…I have a cutie face and stylish momma, a scotch and Neil Diamond loving poppa and a cool snowboarder dude brother. Any ideas?

    Great new feature!

I am the world’s worst at gift buying and I really don’t even attempt it any more…but….I have 2 bosses (1 male, 1 female) that I would reeeeeally like to be able to give a nice little thoughtful gift at Christmastime. It is just sooooo hard to find something for people with very particular tastes in everything from food to decor. Any ideas? Thank you.

Aren’t you just the nicest thing ever!?! Love this feature!!

I’m spending the holidays in Hawaii with the family (rough, I know) but I simply can NOT pretend it’s not Christmas….so my question to you is:

How would you style yourself Hawaiian Holiday?

    Yay! <3

I liked your “getting dressed” segment. I liked to see how you got your inspiration. :) Anyway, this one is good too. I like the holiday traditions questions. My son just turned 2 & I wanted to start some neat traditions with him. I have some of my own, but it’s nice to hear what other people do. I live in Florida, so most of the time Christmas sneaks up on us.

Thanks for your great blog. I’m sure it’s a lot to keep up with & you do a lovely job.

This is such a cute idea…and so fun seeing you through video! I have to ask since I recently bought your fabulous skirt online…are you going to wear your B. Jones Style skirt this holiday season as well? How would you style it? I would love to see your take on it and what you would match it with.
Thanks again for being so sweet and responsive!

Great idea – can’t wait to see which questions you answer :)

Awesome idea! And YES! The Christmas traditions that you have! I adore hearing about what people do in their homes to welcome in Christmas and enjoy the beautiful season. As the woman of the household, I know it’s a key part for the family to introduce traditions and let them be woven into our personal stories of life!
    Can’t wait to hear! :)

    B. Jones – I love this idea! Videos are so much fun and you can really see someone’s personality. My holiday Christmas question is this: what kind of jacket do you wear to a holiday event?? I have so many blazers and really warm jackets, but none seem chic or sleek enough for a holiday party. How do you stay warm in a cute little jacket?

    I second ssl’s question!

this isn’t holiday related but maybe at some point you could do like a “what to wear” for interviews? they always throw me off if it’s not for kind of a typical office-type job, so maybe a couple different outfits that would be appropriate for like restaurant jobs, or more fashionable retail jobs, etc.

Hey Beth…I absolutely love your Blog..! plus you have such a cool personality! I live in Guatemala and I am dying to get ombre hair from dark roots to light tips sooo i was wondering if you could give the steps to do it because I really want my sister to do it..because over here very few people know how to do it and the ones who do ask for too much money…!
    well thank u for the advice…. :D
