Color Blocking Leather

2012 February 14
by B. Jones

(Jacket – Crossroads, Sunglasses – c/0 Guess, Tee – H&M via Crossroads, Skirt – Vintage similar here, Bag – c/0 Banana Republic, Shoes – Sam Edelman)

Re-thinking my brown leather skirt.. normally it would be winter-ized.. but I had fun bringing out some spring pieces and making it work for a warm, sunny day.

The dropped waist has always thrown me off a little, but pairing it with a crop top and swingy-jacket seemed to make sense. And, of course playing with color is still too fun to retire.. so I color-blocked my way through the rest of the look.

I’ve been seeing different variations of mixing blues and yellows all over. I love your more muted yellow and how you added in the brown leather, very boho-chic.

Love the leather skirt! I finally went to the Crossroads off Newport Blvd. and found some super cute leather booties! It was pretty busy since I went on Saturday, but I’ll be back there to sell some things and hopefully find some more goodies.

You’re hair looks a-may-zing like that! I’ve used your tutorials to recreate the look myself, but my bun seems to look less finished than yours for some reason…maybe some of the layering in my hair :( .

Love the whole look! Happy V-Day!

geeesh, i need to get out to see you and do some damage at Crossroads. I miss the one in my old hood (seattle). That skirt is delish and I love the shape of that blazer..very cool look! Glad I’m seeing how those Edelman’s look on..was thinking about them. They make your legs look hot and toned so I’m thinking it might be smart to pull the trigger on those puppies. ;)
