In the FIT AND FABULOUS series, I’m focusing on not only getting fit.. but also feeling fabulous. Everyone can use a dose of fabulous now and then, and for me I was feeling drab and in need of some new makeup. So armed with Christmas money I headed to Sephora and got a load of new products.. all from Make Up For Ever.

I’ve struggled with acne, aging (I’m 32!) and pregnancy pigmentation which needed some serious coverage. The Make Up For Ever products give really great coverage and give me that everyday flawless look that I want. With all my new products.. I’m feeling so fresh and ready for the new year.

Now, I’m sharing the products that I use and giving you a tutorial teaching you how to achieve the everyday flawless look. Tweet #bjsfitandfabulous if you have any other makeup tips for girls in need of a dose of fabulousness.

Make Up Forever HD Elixir, Make Up Forever Liquid Lift Foundation, Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer, Make Up Forever Duo Mat Powder, Make Up Forever Sculpting Kit, Make Up Forever Aqua Brow Corrector, Cover Girl Eyeliner, Lancome Doll Lashes Mascara

Thanks for posting this! I really enjoyed seeing the techniques you use. I do not have perfect skin and it’s nice to see a tutorial that doesn’t just include tinted moisturizer as a foundation. I’ve been looking for a great concealer and might have to check that out!

I love a full face of makeup too!
Just ran out of my foundation and will go check out the makeup forever line at my local Ulta.
A big Thank You for having the confidence to reveal your un-makeup-ed face….although I could see none of the “flaws” you mentioned :)
Will be following your progress and hopefully improving along with you.
    Xoxo,
    Tina

    Beth,

I’ve been following your blog since you were posting from The Vintage Society. You’ve always been a huge sartorial inspiration for me and it’s been fun to see the progression of your style and your life! Congratulations on Turner, he’s beautiful. I just want to tell you I’m so inspired by your decision to be inclusive about everything that experience meant to you– the positive and the negative. I find your candor totally refreshing; it’s not something I see on a lot of other blogs and I imagine it can’t be terribly easy to be so vulnerable in front of such a large audience. I hope it makes it the tiniest bit easier to know that it’s reinforced my love for your blog. You’re beautiful, charming, and inspiring, and I always look forward to your posts.

Hey Beth, wanted to tell you I love this video – have always been a fan of your hair tutorials and am very happy to see how you do up your gorgeous face for everyday.

Just want to say too, similarly to Maddie above, that while I have checked in with your blog for a couple of years now and always loved your style photos, LATELY you’ve really jumped to the top of my list of blogs I want to spend time on and root for and recommend to others. I love the new vulnerable, strong, unstoppable mama-you… as a 33 year-old mom of 2 myself, your journey is so relatable to me! (Congratulations on your boy, by the way. What a gorgeous little munchkin he is!) I read a lot of fashion/style blogs, and I know that in a weird way the appeal of many of them is that I don’t know much about their lives (I’m thinking Atlantic-Pacific, Eat Sleep Wear, etc) because they present such a pretty picture, literally. But what you are doing here–being so authentic AND fabulous–makes you a person/brand that I feel increasingly loyal to and truly INSPIRED by. So big thanks, from one mama to another!

    xoxo, Alison

    Hi Beth,
Thanks for posting this. You are gorgeous! I do a very similar everyday makeup. I love a gel eyeliner – I have thin lashes and I like a thick dark brown line on my upper lash line. I have eyes similar in shape to yours, so I can pile on the eye makeup without overwhelming my eyes. The liner I’m using currently is the dark brown MAC version and I really like it.

I’m going to check out some of these products. I also like more coverage (for the same reasons…I’m almost 34) and am really interested in that concealer.

Oh, and I wanted to recommend 2% benzoyl peroxide gel for acne. It’s the only product that really works for me for major spots. I’ve also struggled with acne in the past although my outbreaks seem to happening less often these days.

Thank you for posting this. It’s always nice to see the techniques that someone uses, especially to cover the imperfections most of us have. Like you, I wasn’t blessed with perfect complexion and am always searching for products that will cover my dark circles, redness and blemishes. Keep the tips coming!!!
