Adventures in Thrifting
I just returned from a little getaway with the hubby! After three months of being parents we celebrated by heading up to Santa Barbara for the night. It was such a great, relaxing time for both of us.
One of the main reasons for journeying north to Santa Barbara (in my book) is stopping in Ventura to hit up all the AMAZING thrift stores. If you are looking to thrift like a maniac.. you have to go to Ventura. Normally I would spend an entire day digging through the racks and piles, but with a man waiting in a nearby chair.. I kept it short. I ran to my favorite sections and pulled out only the things that grabbed my attention immediately. Even with limited time, I still scored!
Here’s a peek into my day and a few of my finds.
*little addition.. since I’ve had a few requests for thrift store names and location. I shop all the thrift stores on Main Street in downtown Ventura, CA. There are a few of them.. my two favorites are Coalition Thrift Store and Retarted Children’s Thrift Store.
The take home items…
Are you kidding me with these boots?! I’m taken back to 2005 when Sienna Miller hit the fashion scene.. imaging her boho dresses and slouchy boots.. that’s where I’m heading with these 80′s babies.
I’ve been dying for a pair of high waisted leather pants, and seriously was thinking about that when I walked up to the rack and grabbed these. They are perfection. I’m dreaming of a look like this.
I’m always a sucker for an oversized, cozy cardigan and this one is a great blend of black and white. Thinking about knit on knit on knit.
Ok.. so I usually go for leopard print.. but now I’m thinking tiger print is where I’m headed.

Then finally, my thrift adventures have taken a new direction. I now head to the kids section and dig for some pieces for Turner… and boy did I find some goodies. I’m already styling up looks for his months ahead.

Great finds, I am looking at kids stuff all of the time now too. I bought new for my first son until I realized what I was spending per wear- they are out of them so fast! Love that little plaid.

Oh dear! You have some amazing finds. It’s nice though because you know how to pull off every pieces and you always look great in it. I love that tiger print jacket and the oversized cardigan. And of course, your little one will look absolutely cute in all your thrift finds.
